French Bread Pizzas

These pizzas are easy to make, you can throw together leftover meats and veggies on them in a snap.

  • Baking sheet


  • French bread 1/4 bread per person
  • Pizza (marinara) sauce 3 tbsp per person, more or less
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese 1/2 cup per person, estimated
  • Your favorite pizza toppings pepperoni, sausage, peppers, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, jalapenos


  • Preheat oven to 400
  • Halve the french bread lengthwise, and in half again to make 4 pieces
  • Prep toppings for easy grabbing if having family members participate, this includes cutting veggies, cooking any meats, and shredding cheeses. Often I pull out shredded chicken and Italian sausage I have cooked in the freezer.
  • Apply a light layer of pizza sauce to bread, top with veggies and cheese to your tastes. We like to put a light layer of cheese then add our veggies/meats and go extra cheese on top.
  • Once assembled, place pizzas on a baking sheet and put in the oven for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melty delicious.
  • Plate immediately and enjoy while still warm! For littles, I cut into smaller pieces for easier eating.


There's no wrong way to make pizzas. You can take leftover lunch meats, shredded chicken, alfredo sauce, Italian sausages, and any veggies you have in your veggie drawer for a real custom made pizza. I find this is a great way to get kiddos to eat veggies when they add them to the pizza themselves!
